ADLIB Information Systems specializes in software for Libraries, Museums and Archives. For this niche in the market, ADLIB Information Systems has developed a specialized database management / information retrieval system named ADLIB. ADLIB software combines the transactional aspects of real-time database management systems with the searching power of information retrieval software.

With its roots in the late seventies and having been ported to a number of different operating systems, the ADLIB for Windows software is now in its fourth generation. ADLIB was one of the first systems to offer dynamic public Web Access to museum collections.

Today, over 500 institutions in more than 20 countries use the ADLIB software suite to register, manage and disclose their collections. ADLIB Information Systems being a European (Anglo-Dutch) company, there has always been a strong emphasis on language neutrality of the software, allowing searches to be made against records in different languages.
