EMII European Standards Survey

The EMII feasibility study project funded under the EC Raphael programme was launched at the mda/CIDOC 99 Conference, in London, UK and ran from August 1999 until September 2000.

The project aimed to assess and quantify the status of use of information management standards in museums across Europe. To achieve this EMII staff worked alongside partners to gather the relevant information, undertaking the European Standards Survey. The outcome of the survey is the European Standards Map.

Although now out-of-date, the survey can still be seen as a significant business tool, which, for the first time, made available information relevant to the European museums environment. The European Standards Survey represents an excellent opportunity for further development work for EMII in the future.
